Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is a teen-lit novel by Sara Shepard. It is approximately 318 pages and the first book out of eight.
Pretty Little Liars is one of the better of a series that I have read in quite some time. The setting takes place in wealthy community of Pennsylvania. There are five girls who become best friends in the middle of their fifth grade year. All the girls are brought together by the most popular girl in school, Alison. As the girls go thru middle school, they commit scandal after scandal, until they commit the ultimate scandal on a dorky girl in there grade. After they commit this, they are bound together by the secrete they hold. On a warm summer night, right before there 7th grade year, Alison went missing and never came back. To find out what happens to the other four girls and if they stay best friends or if they go there seprate ways, you must read the book. The book travels through the four girls sophmore year of high school and all the scandoulas activietes they girls become involved with.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone, young or old. It has just the right mixture of suspense, mystery, and romance. This book has also been made into a TV series on ABC.  I rate this book an A+.

  1. These books are WONDERFUL!! They are so great!! Like you said they have the right mixture of suspense, mystery, and romance!! The TV series is okay but not as good as the books are. I think that everyone should read the books before they watch the show because the books do away better of telling the girls story then the show does!! I'm glad your reading the series!! =-)

  2. These books come highly recommended, and have been recommended to me several times whenever I'm looking for something new to read. It's good to hear that it's a good series that will keep me coming back from book to book. It does get hard to keep a reader reading a series if all the novels aren't equally interesting. I'll have to give these a try this summer!

  3. These books sound good. I've seen just a couple of the T.V series but they both seem fairly popular.

  4. I've seen commercials for the TV show, but I didn't realize it was based on a book series. Sounds interesting - I'll have to see if the library has a copy.
